A young female Canada lynx has been successfully rehabilitated and released back into the wild in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This event represents a significant achievement in wildlife conservation, as the lynx, a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, was previously discovered in a compromised state in Sanilac County. Captured due to her unusual behavior, which included preying on domestic geese, the lynx received treatment for several health issues, including a foot wound, parasites, and dehydration. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Detroit Zoological Society worked together to ensure her recovery and successful reintroduction into her natural habitat.
